Where do you rank?
Google, Bing, Yahoo, and other search engines rank your website using the amount of content, external links, how many times your site was viewed, and paid advertisements within the search engines, among many other variables. A higher ranking leads to more views through the search engine. It takes into consideration many other external factors, including “trackbacks” and “hits”. Trackbacks are simply links from someone else’s site linking back to yours. This could be as simplistic as a friend’s blog or an AdWords campaign. Hits are just how many people make it to your site.
